বিদ্যুতের দাম ১৭ থেকে ২১ শতাংশ পর্যন্ত বাড়ানোর প্রস্তাব দেশের জ্বালানি খাতে অস্থিরতা ও ক্রমবর্ধমান উৎপাদন ব্যয়ের প্রেক্ষাপটে পাইকারি পর্যায়ে বিদ্যুতের দাম ১৭ থেকে ২১ শতাংশ পর্যন্ত বাড়ানোর প্রস্তাব দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ বিদ্যুৎ উন্নয়ন বোর্ড (পিডিবি)। বাংলাদেশ এনার্জি রেগুলেটরি কমিশনে (বিইআরসি) এই প্রস্তাব জমা দেওয়া হয়েছে বলে মঙ্গলবার (৫ মে) নিশ্চিত করেছেন কমিশনের চেয়ারম্যান জালাল আহমেদ।

বাংলাদেশের ৪৮% কর্মোপযোগী মানুষের কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ জরুরি বিশ্বজুড়ে শ্রমবাজার দ্রুত রূপান্তরিত হচ্ছে। ডিজিটাল প্রযুক্তি, কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা (এআই), সবুজ রূপান্তর ও জনমিতিক পরিবর্তনের প্রভাব এর অন্যতম কারণ। পরিবর্তিত এ শ্রমবাজারে নিজেকে যোগ্য করে প্রতিযোগিতায় টিকে থাকতে দরকার স্বল্পমেয়াদি কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ। বাংলাদেশের অন্তত ৪৮ শতাংশ কর্মউপযোগী মানুষের জন্য এটা প্রয়োজন। মঙ্গলবার (৫ মে) আন্তর্জাতিক শ্রম সংস্থা (আইএলও) এক প্রতিবেদনে এ তথ্য প্রকাশ করেছে।
