All Hon’ble Members of BGMEAWe are very happy to announce that the BGMEA has recently signed a MoU with BADAS (Bangladesh Diabetic Association) to improve the medical facilities of the workers and employees of RMG factories. This MoU covers the preventive and curative service with the following terms and conditions: i) All employees and workers of factories will be trained in health and hygiene by BADAS which would prevent them from diseases and ensure good health and good life style; ii) Through data base, record of all employees and workers health condition, history, etc. will be maintained. All the employees will be put under a medical cover by which they can be treated upon for all diseases; iii) BADAS will coordinate and provide primary, secondary and tertiary level curative cares for the employees and workers of factories will be integrated with telemedicine service. iv) BADAS will arrange health education, health promotion services to employees and workers of factories. v) First Aid/Emergency Care at site will be the responsibility of BGMEA and it’s member Factories. vi) Each employee and worker of factories will get a Health Education (HE) & Health Preventive (HP) session for 3 hours in each month; vii) Factories will provide appropriate physical facilities (space, sitting arrangements, electricity etc) for the delivery of health promotion and education activities (including immunization program) for its employees. viii) Factories will take necessary measures to allow the employees to visit the relevant Health Centers/Hospitals for primary/secondary/tertiary care when referred by the preventive service providers. ix) For the preventive services factories will pay to BADAS an amount of Tk. 40/- (Taka Forty only) per employee/worker per month. x) BADAS will provide 20% concession on all charges to employees, workers and employer of BGMEA members factories.
