Twenty-nine inhabitants of enclaves who received training under Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) were handed over certificates and job placement letters at a program on 22 February.
Honorable Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP, attended the program as chief guest and distributed the certificates and job letters among the trainees.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman presided over the certificate awarding ceremony which was also attended by Director General of the Department of Youth Development Anwarul Karim and Executive Director of SEIP Project Abdur Rouf Talukder.
Former President of BGMEA Mostafa Golam Quddus, First Vice President of BGMEA Moinuddin Ahmed, Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir and BGMEA Directors were also present at the program.
BGMEA under the auspices of the Finance Ministry and with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is implementing SEIP to develop skills of around 44 thousands workers and mid-level employees in ready-made garment industry in three years by providing them training.
BGMEA provided training and job to the 29 enclave inhabitants under SEIP with a view to including them in the mainstream economy.
