Accord, Alliance and Tripartite National Action Plan are initiatives to carry out assessment of fire, building and electrical safety of garment factories.
Buyers of Europe and some global buyers have formed Accord. North American buyers are the signatories of Alliance. The Government of Bangladesh, employers and workers have concluded the Tripartite National Action Plan.
Accord and Alliance will inspect their respective supplier factories. Tripartite National Action Plan will undertake the assessment of those factories that are not covered by Accord or Alliance. Efforts are being made to develop common standards for assessment under these three programs so as to avoid duplication.
