The first-ever inter-garments football tournament “BGMEA CUP 2016” kicked off at the International Turkish Hope School Astro-Turf ground on March 17.
BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, Vice President Ferdous Perves Bivon, former Presidents of BGMEA Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), Abdus Salam Murshedy, Anwar-ul-Alam Chowhury (Parvez) and BGMEA Directors Inamul Haq Khan (Bablu) and Md. Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin) were present at the inaugural ceremony of the football tournament.
Twelve renowned garment companies in Bangladesh have participated in the BGMEA CUP 2016 organized by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). The participating companies are -- Ananta Garments Ltd, Apparel Industry Ltd, Banda Design Ltd, Comfit Composite Knit Ltd, Envoy Group, Epyllion Group, Interstoff Group, Rayon Tex Group, Sterling Group, Tamanna Apparel Ltd, Torque Fashions Ltd, & Versatile Group.
Gazi TV is the media partner and International Turkish Hope School is the venue partner of the football tournament while the sponsor partners are Islami Bank, EXIM Bank, Rising Group, PORCELANOSA by Nupami BD, Amaze Power, Sailor by Epyliion, CBL Munchee and Kabab Factory.
The 12 teams are divided into two groups and the group stage matches are taking place at the International Turkish Hope School Astro-Turf ground. The finals of the 7-a-side football tournament will be played at the Army Stadium on April 1.
