A panel discussion was held at the Envoys' Conference on November 28 to discuss foreign policy issues, especially trade in the changing global context.
The interactive session with chambers and business community was organized as a part of the three-day conference that began in Dhaka with participation of all the Bangladesh envoys currently posted in 58 countries.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman attended the session as a panel discussant to share his views on how to promote the country’s interests, especially expansion of trade.
FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), President of ICC Bangladesh Mahbubur Rahman and Vice President of MCCI Golam Mainuddin also took part in the panel discussion where the Bangladesh envoys were present.
In his address BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman underscored the need for branding Bangladesh in foreign lands through highlighting positive feats of the country.
He said the RMG industry of Bangladesh has many achievements and positive stories to tell the world. “The safety standards of our garment factories are world-class as they are inspected and remediated wherever necessary under the supervision of international safety platforms. Bangladesh has 67 green factories LEED certified by US Green Building Council; out of which 7 are world’s top rated.”
The BGMEA President sought cooperation and support of the all Bangladesh Envoys in brightening the country’s image and promoting its trade, including RMG exports, in foreign countries.
