BGMEA President calls upon all to promote Bangladesh

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said Bangladesh had many stories of glory worth telling the world, calling upon all to play their part from their respective positions to promote the country internationally.

“It’s time to be louder in telling the world why we are proud of Bangladesh and why ‘Made in Bangladesh’ is a prestigious brand. It’s time to showcase our vibrant and beautiful Bangladesh,” he said.

“Over the last 50 years since its independence, Bangladesh has undergone tremendous transformation to become one of the fastest growing economies in the world. However, our success stories haven’t not portrayed enough internationally. So, we need to narrate those little or untold stories to the global audience,” he observed.

He made remarks while addressing a Victory Day Rickshaw Parade organized by “We Love Rickshaw" on the occasion of 51st Victory Day of Bangladesh in Dhaka on December 16.

Freedom Fighter and Language Movement veteran Monjurul Haque Sikder inaugurated the rally.

A fleet of 51 Rickshaws moved around the Dhaka University and Sahid Minar area while freedom fighters, children, media personalities and celebrities joined the celebration procession.

“We Love Rickshaw" is a social campaign program to promote the tradition and cultural heritage of Rickshaws in Bangladesh.

With the support of BGMEA, two traditional Bangladeshi Rickshaws have been delivered to Manchester Museum, UK for their South Asia Gallery as a symbol of South Asian heritage.

In his address as chief guest, Faruque Hassan said BGMEA supported the initiative of sending the Rickshaws to the Manchester Museum as it is a great opportunity to showcase the rich culture and heritage of Bangladesh to the international audience.

He also mentioned that BGMEA recently organized the Made in Bangladesh Week to promote Bangladesh and the RMG industry internationally.
