Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of Greece to India H. E. Aliki Koutsomitopoulou at the embassy in New Delhi.
Directors of Giant Group -- Sharmeen Hassan Tithi, Azfar Hassan and Ashaab Adeeb Hassan were also present at the meeting.
The meeting, held on February 29, focused on various aspects of mutual interest, with an emphasis on exploring potential areas for bilateral trade and investment collaboration between Bangladesh and Greece.
Discussions encompassed potential and ways to increase exports from Bangladesh to Greece, especially ready-made garments, ceramics, frozen food, jute and leather goods.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan highlighted the bright prospects of tourism between the two nations, underscoring its significance in promoting cultural exchange and strengthen people-to-people connections.
He urged Ambassador Aliki Koutsomitopoulou to streamline visa procedures and other travel-related processes for Bangladeshi tourists intending to visit Greece.
Faruque Hassan, also serving as the Honorary Consul General of Greece to Bangladesh, sought the cooperation of the Ambassador in exploring market opportunities in Greece, especially increasing apparel exports to Greece.
Both sides expressed optimism about more collaborations that could boost economic partnerships between the two countries.
