Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has emphasized the pivotal role of the youth in propelling Bangladesh towards a knowledge-based economy.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 12th edition of the DRMC National Debate Festival as the chief guest, Faruque Hassan highlighted the evolving landscape of Bangladesh’s economic development.
The opening ceremony of the debate competition was held at Dhaka Residential Model College in Dhaka on December 7.
He underscored the significance of education, knowledge, and technology in steering the country towards progress.
“As Bangladesh moves towards a knowledge-based economy, our youth will be instrumental in driving the next wave of development,” said Faruque Hassan.
He called upon students to enhance their knowledge and skills in alignment with the evolving demands of the world.
Mentioning the rapid changes in the global landscape, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, President Faruque Hassan urged students to prepare themselves efficiently.
“Our students need to equip themselves to navigate these changes effectively and leverage the evolving technologies for the continued development of Bangladesh,” he added.
Faruque Hassan commended Dhaka Residential Model College for organizing the 12th edition of the DRMC National Debate Festival.
“Debates help in developing strong analytical skills, which are not only valuable in academic pursuits but are also crucial in real-world contexts,” he stated.
The debate competition, hosted by Dhaka Residential Model College and supported by BGMEA, aims to nurture the intellectual growth of students and preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
