BGMEA Strengthens Worker Health Services through Standing Committee Meeting on Health

To ensure the well-being and productivity of garment workers, BGMEA has been undertaking various initiatives. As part of these efforts, BGMEA currently operates a total of eight health centers in Dhaka, Savar, and Gazipur, where garment workers receive free healthcare services. These centers provide regular medical consultations, medicines, health advice, and primary healthcare facilities for workers.

To further strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of healthcare services for workers, a significant exchange meeting was held at the BGMEA Complex on October 6, organized by the BGMEA Standing Committee on Health.

The meeting was presided over by Safina Rahman, Chair of the Standing Committee on Health. Among those present were BGMEA Vice President Md. Rezwan Selim, Director Rumana Rashid, Chairman of the Standing Committee on TB Control and Dengue Nurul Tapan, Chairman of Mirpur Health Center Khandaker Mahidur Rahman, Chairman of Mohammadpur Health Center Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of Hemayetpur Health Center Md. Omar Faruk, Co-Chairman of Konabari Health Center Mirza Enayet Hossain, and Chairman of Ashulia Health Center and School Md. Waliullah, along with other co-chairmen and committee members.

During the meeting, the chairmen of various committees discussed the ongoing operations of BGMEA-run health centers and shared their valuable insights on improving the quality of healthcare services for workers.
