Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) called for setting up a BGMEA Help Desk to facilitate export of Ready Made Garments (RMG) through the Chittagong port.

BGMEA leaders made this call at a view exchange meeting with CPA Chairman Commodore M Anwarul Islam at BGMEA Regional Office conference room here on Tuesday.

They also urged the CPA chairman to take steps to give FCL container delivery the next day after the indent submission, remove complications in imported LCL goods delivery, continue CTMS by relaxing cut-off time for export containers and check theft of goods from imported FCL/LCL containers inside the port restricted area.

CPA Chairman Commodore M Anwarul Islam in his speech assured the BGMEA leaders of setting up a BGMEA Help Desk at CPA building and measures to help the sector contribute more to the economy.

BGMEA First Vice President Nasir Uddin Chowdhury presided over the meeting attended by BGMEA Directors and high officials of CPA.
