A 'Global Deal' was launched at the UN headquarters to address challenges in the global labor market and enable all people to benefit from globalization.
Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina attended the launching of the initiative where President of Chile Michelle Bachelet, Prime Minister of Ethiopia Hailemariam Desalegn, and Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern were present.
The Global Deal was initiated by Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven and designed in collaboration with the OECD and the ILO to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all through social dialogue.

BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir and Frist Vice President of FBCCI and former President of BGMEA Md. Shafiul Islam were also present at the launching of the ‘Global Deal’ initiative.
The BGMEA Leaders accompanied the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh as her entourage in the 71st session of the UN General Assembly. Sidelines of the UN assembly, they held several meetings with the important business and RMG stakeholders in the US.
