A team of Bangladeshi mountaineers is going on an expedition to conquer Mount AmaDablam and Mount KyajoRi of the Himalayas. Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is supporting the expedition.
The mountaineers received the National Flag from guests at a press conference held in Dhaka on 23 October.
Dhaka University Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman attended the press conference as chief guest while BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan was present as special guest.
The team, led by Mount Everest conqueror MA Mohit, would leave Dhaka for the expedition on 27 October.
The other members of the team are Nur Mohammad, KaziBahlulMaznu, ShamimTalukder, Ikramul Hasan Shakil, Shayla Parvin, and Fowzia Ahmed.
In his address to themountaineers, BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan said that climbing mountains is not only a matter of personal pride; rather it brings glory for the country of the climbers by making it known to the world.
