Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has taken the responsibility of education and health of 15 orphan girls of the Rana Plaza victims.
BGMEA President Md Atiqul Islam made the announcement while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Azizur Rahman Girls’ Home (Orphanage) at the National Press Club on Saturday.
The BGMEA president said, “It is a reality that an orphanage can never be a substitute for parental love, but the education provided to these children by Anjuman Mufidul Islam will turn into an asset for them.”
The BGMEA president handed over a cheque for Tk 2 lakh to the charity at the program.
Md Enamur Rahman, an MP of Dhaka-19 constituency, and owner of Enam Medical College, which played an exemplary role during the Rana Plaza rescue mission, addressed the program as chief guest. President of Anjuman Md Shamsul Huq Chisti also spoke.
