Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has sought tax holiday until 2013.

In the budget proposals for the next fiscal, presented by finance minister A M A Muhith on Thursday, he proposed to extend tax holiday for 25 sectors, excluding the readymade garments (RMG) sector.

BGMEA issued a press release saying, "The association thinks that export will increase if the sector is given tax holiday."
