Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Senator of Eswatini, Manqoba Khumalo, paid a courtesy call on BGMEA President Faruque at the latter’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka on July 20.
Ms. Cebile Amanda Mhlabatsi, Under Secretary; and Mluleki Sakhile Dlamini, Director MSME at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade; and Dr. Khanyisile Dlamini, Senior Executive Manager in the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority accompanied the minister during the visit.
BGMEA Vice President Miran Ali, Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Director Asif Ashraf and Chair of BGMEA Standing Committee on Foreign Mission Cell Shams Mahmud were also present at the meeting.
They discussed issues of mutual interest for Bangladesh and Eswatini, particularly potential areas of trade and investment.
They also talked about possible collaboration between the two countries in exploring trade potentials that lie ahead between the two countries and ways to seize the opportunities.
Both Minister Manqoba Khumalo and BGMEA President Faruque Hassan opined that Bangladesh and Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, might explore the possibility of making investment in joint venture in promising sectors including apparel and textiles.
They expressed high optimism that cooperation and collaboration between Bangladesh and Eswatini will lead to mutual trade benefits.
