H.E. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the exposition at BICC on December 12 while Leader of the Opposition H. E. Begum Khaleda Zia expected to attend the closing session on December 13.

 

The three-day mega event will take place from December 12 to 14, 2012 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) at Agargaon in Dhaka

BGMEA president Shafiul Islam disclosed the information at a press briefing at BGMEA office.

 

Over 40 foreign buyers from the USA, the UK, Canada, the Middle East, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, India and Pakistan had been here in the last Batexpo to have business, and a new opportunity emerges following the market expansion plan to Russia, Shafiul said.

 

“We hope buyers from Russia will also come this time . .we need to have a revised duty structure through proper economic diplomacy as they impose almost 40 percent duty,” he said. The BGMEA president also hoped that the spot orders will be higher than the previous year ($66.35 million).
