A three-day 11th Chittagong Apparel, Fabric, and Accessories Exposition-2013 (CAFAXPO-2013) kicks off in the port city from today.
Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is arranging the annual textile, machineries and accessories exhibition to introduce local stakeholders with the latest tools and logistics from home and abroad for readymade garments and textile sectors.
The CAFAXPO-2013 will be held at Chittagong Jilla Krira Sangstha (CJKS) Indoor Stadium with participation of 47 reputed local and foreign companies of fabrics, knit, woven, enterprises, IT and garments, machineries etc.
Apart from inaugural and concluding ceremonies, seminars on three separate subjects related to the present state of country's garments sector and subsequent global trend, live fashion show everyday at the exhibition venue with the participation of noted artistes are the main features of the CAFAXPO-2013.
Commerce Minister G M Golam Quader, MP, will be the chief guest while Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation M Monzur Alam, National Board of Revenue Chairman Mohammad Golam Hossain, will attend the inaugural function as special guests.
Former Commerce Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury will be the chief guest at closing ceremony while former State Minister for Environment and Forest Jafrul Islam Chowdhury, MP, will attend the function as special guest on Friday next.
This was disclosed at a press briefing at BGMEA auditorium here today by BGMEA first vice president Nasir Uddin Chowdhury.
Speaking the press conference, Nasir hoped that CAFAXPO-2013 would be a center place for reunion of local and foreign importers and exporters involved with the trade and the event would also play a key role in increasing the growth of industries.
He said CAFAXPO-2013 would offer the buyers and visitors from home and abroad the opportunity of seeing the entire range of garments fabrics and accessories manufacture in Chittagong.
