The Center of Excellence for Bangladesh Apparel Industry (CEBAI) was launched at a program in Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. ShahriarAlam, BGMEA President Md. Atiqul Islam, Vice President Md. Shahidullah Azim, Vice President (Finance) Reaz Bin Mahmood, Ms.Tomoko Nishimoto, ILO Assistant Director General & Regional Director for the Asia Pacific; Ms. Karin Mcdonald, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Cooperation, SIDA; Srinivas B. Reddy, Country Director, ILO, were present in the launching ceremony.

BGMEA has established CEBAI in association with the International LabourOrganisation (ILO) and the financing partnership with Hennes&Mauritz (H&M) and Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
BGMEA envisions to make the CEBAI a high-profile entity that would not only respond to demand-driven skills development initiatives, but also concentrate on research and development for the sector to turn the best ideas and thoughts into a strategic development agenda.
