The Vice President (Finance) of BGMEA Mohammed Nasir urged the government to form a National Monitoring and Oversight Committee comprising representatives from Court, Media, Corporate Sector, Academicians, NGO and other Stakeholders to implement the Rules of the High Court for stopping sexual harassment at all workplaces and educational institutions.
He made this comment while addressing the National Access to Justice Conference on Implementation of Public Interest Litigation: Challenges and Opportunities as a Special Guest.
Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA) organized the conference at CIRDAP Auditorium in the capital today.
Advocate Salma Ali, Executive Director of Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA), and Advocate Sultana Kamal, Executive Director of Ain o Salish Kendra, also spoke at the conference.
“Readymade garment industry has not only created employment for Bangladeshi women but also we have taken a number of initiatives for the welfare of these women. We are committed to ensuring dignity, welfare and safety of our workers”, the BGMEA Vice President (Finance) added.
