A conference on Sustainable Sourcing in the Garment Sector (SSGS) was held at a hotel in Dhaka on September 29.
Honorable Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP attended the inaugural ceremony of the conference as chief guest while BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman gave the welcome speech at the program.
The conference is an initiative of the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, Lilianne Ploumen who attended the program. The event aims to improve the collaboration process of all stakeholders in the garment industry.
The conference featured four informative sessions covering different issues in the RMG industry, including global trends in garment sector, International framework for sustainable sourcing, and Success factors for sustainable production and sourcing.
BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, Vice President Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu), BGMEA Directors Miran Ali and Syed Mohammed Tanvir and other speakers from home and abroad took part in the interactive sessions as distinguished panelists.
