A consultation workshop with RMG factory management was held at Lakeshore Hotel in Dhaka on 27 May. Solidarity and Empowerment through Education, Motivation and Awareness (SEEMA), a project being implemented by CARE Bangladesh, organized the event to exchange views with mid-level officials of RMG factories in Bangladesh.
SEEMA is working with 1800 female garment workers to improve their human condition and social position through providing functional literacy, awareness and skill training.
BGMEA Vice President Md. Shahidullah Azim spoke as chief guest at the workshop where Humaira Aziz, Director, women empowerment, CARE Bangladesh, and Fatima Jahan Seema, Team Leader, SEEMA Project, were also present.
The consultation workshop was arranged to draw valuable opinions from the mid-level factory officials for the enhancement of life skills of garment workers and find out ways for better collaboration with factory management in this regard.
