A delegation from Goethe-Institut, Bangladesh visited BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) campus on November 17, 2015. The delegation was led by the Director of Goethe-Institut, Ms. Judith Mirschberger. The purpose of their visit was to observe different educational and functional activities of BUFT. This visit was a part of the Education Collaboration Agreement between Goethe-Institut & BUFT signed by Mr. Reaz-Bin-Mahmood, Vice Chairman (Finance) and the member of Board of Trustees, BUFT and Goethe-Institut Director Ms. Judith Mirschberger respectively on August 30, 2015   The German team will visit Rangpur with the BUFT team to see the indigenous apparel and textile manufacturing techniques.
Mr. Faruque Hassan, Sr. Vice President of BGMEA and the member of the Board of Trustees, BUFT cordially welcomed them and gave a power point presentation on Bangladesh RMG sector. A presentation on BUFT was also given by. Mr. Anindya Chakraborty , a faculty member of FDT. There was a formal meeting session among them where they discussed various issues relating to development of academic, professional excellence and details on local – International project 2015 between BUFT, Goethe-Institut & two universities of Berlin, Germany. A discussion was held about the sustainability and international trade issues of garments as well as workshops on traditional sewing and dyeing techniques. In the meeting Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan , Registrar A N M Rafiqul Alam and the Head of FDT Dept. & senior faculty members of FDT department were present.
