PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) organized a high-level discussion meeting at a hotel in Dhaka on 29 November to discuss the prospects of Bangladesh ready-made garment industry and ways to tap the potentials.
Md. Shahriar Alam, MP, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the program as Chief Guest while Moinuddin Ahmed, Acting President of BGMEA was present as Special Guest.
In his address BGMEA Acting President Moinuddin Ahmed said that the apparel industry is a major pillar of Bangladesh’s economy, so taking this industry forward means taking Bangladesh forward.
He said that Bangladesh has enormous opportunities in the apparel sector. “Now we have to take our strategies to grow our share in world market and one of our key strategic priorities is to move to high-end and branded fashion segments,” Moinuddin Ahmed added.
Md. Atiqul Islam, former President of BGMEA; Syed Mohammed Tanvir, Director, BGMEA; and Mamun Rashid, Managing Partner, PwC were also present on the occasion.
