It’s right time to promote ‘Made in Bangladesh’ globally: BGMEA President

Time is ripe for Bangladesh to showcase its achievements and potential globally to create a niche for its products in the world market, said Faruque Hassan, President of BGMEA.

He made the remark at the logo launching of “Made in Bangladesh” campaign on 9 December. 

Under the initiative of the Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI), in association with Spellbound Leo Burnett (local representative of CNNIC) organized the Inception and Networking Session of “Made in Bangladesh” Campaign at Westin Dhaka. 

In that event, the logo for the campaign was launched by the Chief Guest Tipu Munshi, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Commerce. Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce was the Special Guest of the event and the session was chaired by Dr. Md. Jafar Uddin, Chief Executive Officer, BFTI.

In his address BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said, “Bangladesh has come a long way in the last 50 years and secured a prestigious position in the world.”

“As we are looking to expand our trade with the world to pursue our vision of making Bangladesh a developed nation, we need to promote ‘Made in Bangladesh’ internationally as much as possible to build a strong brand image,” he said.

This unique initiative is taken by the Ministry of Commerce and coordinated by the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) in order to showcase the commendable growth and development of Bangladesh under the visionary leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as well as the success stories of the pioneering private sectors of the country to the world. 

The objective of the partnership is to shine a spotlight on Bangladesh’s phenomenal business and growth story to audiences across the world. The cross-platform campaign encompasses the power of CNN’s storytelling, branded content produced by CNN’s award-winning brand studio Create, along with global audience reach to showcase the Bangladesh’s journey of economic growth.

The story of pioneering sectors and industries, including the RMG industry will represent the pride and progress of Bangladesh.

CNN will showcase the compelling stories of the RMG sector of Bangladesh, especially its strides in the areas of workplace safety, environmental sustainability and workers’ wellbeing. The industry’s moves in enhancing competitiveness through innovation, diversification, technology upgrading, and up-skilling will be also highlighted.
