A Job Fair was organized by the Leonard Cheshire Disability Bangladesh (LCDB) on 28 November with an aim to support inclusion of people with disabilities in the mainstream economy through employment.
Moinuddin Ahmed, Acting President of BGMEA, inaugurated the job fair as Chief Guest at the Apparel Club in BGMEA Complex.
Inamul Haq Khan (Bablu), Director, BGMEA, attended the inaugural ceremony as the Special Guest while Professor Dr. Abul Barkat, President of LCDB Executive Committee, chaired the program.
In his address BGMEA Acting President Moinuddin Ahmed said that a large section of the population in Bangladesh are disabled to some extent, and they should be included in the mainstream economy to achieve desired development in Bangladesh.
He said that inclusion of physically challenged people in the economic activities will be instrumental in achieving the government’s vision of turning Bangladesh into a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed country by 2041.
Moinuddin Ahmed thanked the organizer for arranging the job fair for people with disabilities and assured of BGMEA’s cooperation with the initiatives of creating employment the physically challenged people, especially in RMG industry.
