Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President S. M. Mannan (Kochi) tendered his resignation to the BGMEA Board, citing long-term medical treatment as the reason for his resignation.

In this context, an emergency meeting of the BGMEA Board of Directors was held at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka on August 24.

During the meeting, Mannan's resignation was accepted, and Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, who previously served as the Senior Vice President, was unanimously made the new president.

Additionally, Abdullah Hil Rakib was unanimously made Senior Vice President from Vice President, and Asif Ashraf was made Vice President from Director.

The new BGMEA Board under President Khandoker Rafiqul Islam is as follows:

- First Vice President: Syed Nazrul Islam

- Senior Vice President: Abdullah Hil Rakib

- Vice President: Arshad Jamal (Dipu)

- Vice President (Finance): Md. Nasir Uddin

- Vice President: Miran Ali

- Vice President: Asif Ashraf

- Vice President: Rakibul Alam Chowdhury
