A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Finance Ministry and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to enhance productivity and skills of workers and mid-level managers in the garment industry through training.
BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Reaz Bin Mahmood and Jalal Ahmed, Additional Secretary and National Project Director, Finance Division, the Ministry of Finance, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at the conference room of the ministry.
According to the agreement, a total of 43,800 garment workers and mid-level managers will receive training in three years under the “Skill for Employment Investment Program” (SEIP) funded by ADB.   
BTMA President Tapan Chowdhury and Mahbub Ahmed, Senior Secretary, the Ministry of Finance, among others, were present on the occasion.
