On December 12, 2025, H.E. Ganbold Dambajav, Honorable Ambassador of Mongolia to India, held an important courtesy meeting with the leaders of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
The meeting took place at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, Dhaka, where fruitful discussions were held on strengthening bilateral trade relations between the two countries, with particular emphasis on exploring new avenues for investment and economic cooperation.
The Mongolian Ambassador was accompanied by Nasrin Fatema Auwal, Honorary Consul General of Bangladesh in Mongolia.
On behalf of BGMEA, the discussion was led by Acting President Salim Rahman, and attended by Directors Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Nafis-Ud-Doula, Sumaiya Islam, Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Asef Kamal Pasha, Rumana Rashid, and Samiha Azim.
Welcoming the Mongolian Ambassador to the BGMEA office, the Acting President stated that BGMEA has undertaken initiatives to diversify its export markets. From this perspective, he noted that today’s meeting with the Mongolian Ambassador is both important and significant for the industry.
During the meeting, several promising sectors for trade and investment between Mongolia and Bangladesh were discussed, which are highly important for Bangladesh’s garment and other industries.
Ambassador Ganbold Dambajav said that Mongolia is seeking partners to expand exports of its cashmere (garments made from cashmere wool) and leather products, and views Bangladesh as a highly competitive partner for value addition, textile manufacturing, and joint processing of these products.
He also called upon Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to come forward with direct investment in Mongolia in sectors such as strategic minerals, value addition, and logistics.
