Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) and Green Button organized an event titled Beyond Compliance: Trade Shifts, Due Diligence and Purchasing Practices in collaboration with STAR Network, STTI, and GIZ in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Representing BGMEA, Ms. Sheikh Shuchita Jahan Sneha, Coordinator of the Responsible Business Hub, participated in a panel discussion, sharing perspectives from Bangladesh’s RMG industry.

A key message from the discussion was the importance of fostering a partnership-based approach between buyers and manufacturers through responsible purchasing practices, fair pricing that recognizes sustainability investments, and the adoption of responsible contracting principles.

The discussion highlighted that while due diligence can enhance transparency, resilience, and trust across global supply chains, its effectiveness ultimately depends on shared accountability among all stakeholders. Moving beyond compliance requires long-term, collaborative partnerships where brands and manufacturers work together to create a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable textile and apparel industry.
