Orthotics & Prosthetics School inaugurated at CRP

Reaz-Bin-Mahmood, Vice-President (Finance) BGMEA handed over a cheque of Tk 10 lac to Dr. Valerie Ann Taylor, Founder and Coordinator, CRP for the Orthotics & Prosthetics School on the inaugural ceremony.
Orthotics & Prosthetics School inaugurated at CRP:
The first Orthotics & Prosthetics School in Bangladesh has been launched at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) 24 April to teach Rana Plaza victims with permanent disabilities how to effectively use artificial limbs in day to day life.
Roswitha Amels, First Secretary from the German Embassy, Christine Cipolla, Head of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) Bangladesh Delegation, and Reaz Bin Mahmood, Vice President (Finance) BGMEA, inaugurated the Orthotics & Prosthetics School at CRP in Savar.
The training facility is jointly financed by CRP, the Bangladesh Garment Manufactures & Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the German Development Cooperation.
Reaz Bin Mahmood, Vice-President (Finance) BGMEA handed over a cheque of Tk 10 lac to the Orthotics & Prosthetics School authority on the inaugural ceremony. BGMEA has so far donated a total of Tk 20 lac to the school and will contribute Tk 10 lac more.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, implementing agency on behalf of the German Government, support CRP to run the school.
Dr Valerie Ann Taylor, Founder and Coordinator, CRP and Magnus Schmid, Program Coordinator, PSES, GIZ were also present at the program.
