Vice Chairman of Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI) Dr. Sadiq Ahmed called on BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at BGMEA PR office in Gulshan, Dhaka on November 27.

They discussed various issues related to the RMG industry including its challenges, possible ways to address them, opportunities and future priorities required to secure a sustainable growth of the sector.

They underscored the need for research to devise pragmatic strategies for taking the apparel industry to the next level of development.

They also talked about how BGMEA could strengthen its research capacity and industry-academia collaboration to face emerging challenges for the industry especially posed by the fourth industrial revolution and possible changes in market access following Bangladesh’s LDC graduation.

Faruque Hassan apprised Dr. Sadiq Ahmed about the strides of Bangladesh’s apparel industry and requested him to share the industry’s positive stories at international forums.
