A program was arranged by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) in remembrance of the departed souls and affected of the Rana Plaza collapse on Thursday, April 24, at Noorul Quader Auditorium, BGMEA Complex in Dhaka to mark the one year of the tragedy.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, BGMEA leaders, garment entrepreneurs, labour leaders, politicians, diplomats, government secretaries, high officials of law enforcing agencies, development partners and civil society members spoke on the occasion in the program.
They all expressed their firm determination to work together for ensuring safety in the garment industry and averting such unfortunate event in the future.
Children of Rana Plaza victims who are bringing up at the ORCCA Homes and continuing their study by BGMEA’s supervision and financial assistance, the victims of Rana Plaza who were facilitated proper treatment by BGMEA and the jobless of Rana Plaza tragedy who were provided with jobs by BGMEA expressed their gratitude to the trade body in the program.
