A meeting was held between RAJUK Chairman A B M Amin Ullah Nuri and BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at the latter’s office on 29 May to discuss the issue of improving road connections to BGMEA Complex at Uttara in Dhaka.
Faruque Hassan said that BGMEA represents the RMG industry of Bangladesh and provides important services to export-oriented garment factories including issuance of UD. A large number of officials from different garment factories travel to the BGMEA Complex located at Uttara every day for official purposes.
He urged the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) to repair roads, especially the one that connects Sector 12 of Uttara to BGMEA Complex and construct a culvert at Sarkar Bari to ease communications for the everyday commuters in the area.
RAJUK Chairman A B M Amin Ullah Nuri said that the RMG industry has been making significant contributions to the economy of Bangladesh. Agreeing with the points mentioned by the BGMEA President in the meeting, he said RAJUK would extend all necessary cooperation to BGMEA with regard to improving road communications in the areas.
The RAJUK Chairman assured BGMEA that steps would be taken to repair roads in the area on priority basis.
BGMEA Vice President Md. Shahidullah Azim, Vice President (Finance) Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, Vice President Md. Nasir Uddin and Director Md. Mohiuddin Rubel attended the meeting.
Major (Engr) Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury (Retd), Member Development, A.S.M. Raihanul Ferdous, Chief Engineer (Project & Design), and Engr. Ujjwal Mallick, Chief Engineer(Implementation), RAJUK also attended the meeting.
