Corruption is a social menace that cannot be uprooted only with enforcement of laws, BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman said at a seminar on 31 March.
Mass awareness and social movement has to be raised every nook and cranny of the country to root out corruption, he said while addressing the seminar on “Role of social movement in preventing and fighting corruption” as a special guest at the head office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Dhaka.
Dr. Anisuzzaman, Professor Emeritus at the University of Dhaka, attended the seminar as the chief guest while ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmud presided over the program.
Discussants from different sectors also took part in the seminar.
