A seminar was organized in Dhaka on 3 October to exchange views about the progress of Step Up, a project to improve productivity and CSR practices in the RMG industry of Bangladesh.
BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir attended the seminar as chief guest.
In his address, he underscored the need for productivity improvement in Bangladesh’s garment industry to retain competiveness in the global market. He said the Step Up project will help RMG factories to gain pragmatic knowledge in these areas. 
Sofie Pedersen, Project Manager of Step Up; Pia Odgaard, Head of CSR at Danks Fashion & Textile; and top-level management officials of the garment factories under the project took part in the seminar.
The Danish textile and fashion employer associations – Dansk Fashion & Textile (Lead), Danish Chamber of Commerce / WEAR and Danish Fashion Institute – in cooperation with the BGMEA are implementing the project which is financed by Danish development agency DANIDA.
