A delegation of UNICEF held a meeting with the leaders of BGMEA, including its President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, at BGMEA office on April 26.
The team includes UNICEF Representative Edouard Biegbeder, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Specialist Dylan Tromp and Fundraising and Partnership Officer Zahidul Hassan.
In the meeting the UN agency expressed their interest to work for the betterment of Bangladesh garment workers and their children. The BGMEA leaders said that BGMEA is committed to ensuring safety, dignity and welfare of the RMG workers. So, the trade association would welcome any positive endeavor of the UNICEF for the industry.
BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan and Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir also attended the meeting.
