BGMEA Director Nafis Ud Doula attended the opening ceremony of the three-day international Textile Sourcing Exhibition "Intex Bangladesh 2026" held on 19 June, 2026 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital as the special guest.
In his remark, he said that the success of Bangladesh’s apparel sector has been built on the dedication of millions of workers, the vision of entrepreneurs, the support of the government, and the continuous efforts of our industry associations. “Together, we have created an ecosystem that is competitive, reliable, and capable of meeting the evolving demands of global markets.”
He also mentioned that the global textile and apparel landscape is undergoing rapid transformation. Buyers today are looking beyond manufacturing capacity. They are seeking innovation, sustainability, transparency, shorter lead times, responsible production practices, and stronger supply chain partnerships.
The industry has responded positively to these changing expectations. Bangladesh has made remarkable progress in areas such as green manufacturing, environmental compliance, worker welfare, digital transformation, and sustainable sourcing. Many of our factories are now setting global benchmarks in responsible manufacturing, he added.
Nafis Ud Doula said, “At BGMEA, we remain committed to supporting the industry’s journey towards greater competitiveness, sustainability, and global leadership. Through collaboration between manufacturers, buyers, policymakers, and international partners, we can continue building a stronger and more resilient apparel ecosystem.”
“We already know that this government is business-friendly. BGMEA is working closely with the government to facilitate smoother and more efficient business operations.
We are hopeful that, in the coming years, more policies and reforms will be introduced to further enhance the ease of doing business. These initiatives will play a vital role in supporting local entrepreneurs, attracting foreign investors, and creating a more favorable environment for traders and businesses alike.”
