A major milestone has been achieved in creating a skilled, future-ready, and modern workforce capable of using new technologies in the apparel industry through the joint collaboration of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Government of Bangladesh’s Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP).
On 20 November 2025, a grand ceremony was held at the Nurul Quader Auditorium of the BGMEA Complex, where certificates were awarded to 1,175 promising trainees who successfully completed training under the program. These trainees, who hold graduate degrees from various educational institutions, have acquired industry-relevant skills aligned with technological advancements in the apparel sector.
BGMEA President and Chairperson of the SICIP–BGMEA Project, Mahmud Hasan Khan, attended the ceremony as the chief guest and handed over certificates to the trainees. In the second phase of the event, certificates were distributed by BGMEA Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan.
The program was presided over by BGMEA Vice President and member of the SICIP–BGMEA Project Committee, Md. Shehab Udduza Chowdhury. Special guest Director and SICIP–BGMEA Project Committee member Rumana Rashid was also present.
The keynote speech was delivered by BGMEA Director and SICIP–BGMEA Project Committee member Majumdar Arifur Rahman.
Also present were BGMEA Directors Nafis-ud-Doula, Kazi Mizanur Rahman, and several Standing Committee Chairmen.
The event was conducted by Munir Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator of the SICIP–BGMEA Project.
