BGMEA Director Enamul Aziz Chowdhury Attends Discussion Meeting on World Day Against Child Labour 2026

A discussion meeting was held at the Chattogram Circuit House Conference Room on the occasion of “World Day Against Child Labour 2026,” organized by the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE).

The event was attended by the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Chattogram, officials from the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, BGMEA Director Enamul Aziz Chowdhury, industrial owners, workers’ representatives, and media personnel.

In his speech, Enamul Aziz Chowdhury said, “A child’s place is not in the workplace, but in educational institutions. Books, pens, and dreams are what truly belong in their hands.” He welcomed this timely initiative by the district administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments and expressed gratitude to all concerned.

He further stated that through the collective efforts of the Government, International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF, the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, and BGMEA, Bangladesh’s readymade garment industry has become recognized globally as a child labour-free and internationally compliant industrial sector. However, eliminating child labour is not the ultimate goal; ensuring quality education, technology-based skills, and future-oriented skills development opportunities for every child remains essential.
