A meeting of the Market Development Committees of the BGMEA was held today at the BGMEA office to discuss strategies for creating new opportunities in emerging marketplaces for Bangladesh’s ready-made garment exports.
Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director of BGMEA, attended the meeting along with the Chairmen of the Standing Committees: Abdullah Al Noman for Australia, Sanjay Kumar Naha for the UK, Syed Ansar Ullah for Spain, Mamun Reza Jake for South Africa, Md Jewel for China, and Poritosh Chadra Paul for Argentina. M. Sajedul Karim, Chairman of the Trade Fair and Events Committee and Mike Ge, President of the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) also attended the meeting.
In his remarks, Shah Rayeed Chowdhury outlined possible approaches to strengthening communication with relevant stakeholders in target markets to explore avenues for cooperation and collaboration. He emphasized the importance of proactive engagement with international partners to expand Bangladesh’s market access and deepen trade relations.
The importance of identifying prominent international trade fairs was also emphasized. Such initiatives would enhance interaction, facilitate networking, and enable direct engagement with buyers.
The meeting also highlighted the need for enhanced support from Bangladesh missions abroad, particularly in facilitating visa issuance for buyers to encourage greater participation and business connectivity.
Special focus was placed on South Africa as a promising and high-potential market for Bangladesh’s RMG exports.
In addition, discussions were held on strengthening cooperation with the China market, including exploring structured market development initiatives and collaborative efforts to unlock new opportunities.
