The two-day BGMEA Padel Cup 2025, organized by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), concluded today (29 November 2025) with a grand closing and award ceremony at the Bashundhara Padel Tennis Ground in Dhaka. The exciting event ended with the semifinal and final matches of the tournament.

The Hon’ble Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

At the beginning of the event, BGMEA Vice President Md. Rezwan Selim encouraged the players by being present on the field.

Joining the Chief Guest on stage were BGMEA Board Members Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Mohammed Abdur Rahim, Asef Kamal Pasha, Mohammed Sohel, Sakeef Ahmed Salam, Chairman of BGMEA Sports Committee Md. Sajjad Ali Khan, Co-Chairman M. Ishfaq Ahsan, and others.

It is noteworthy that this two-day Padel Cup was organized for the first time by the BGMEA Board under the special initiative and supervision of BGMEA Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury.

In the ‘BGMEA Padel Cup 2025,’ BGMEA members and their family members participated in two categories—Beginner and Advanced. From the BGMEA Directors, Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Nafis-Ud-Doula, Joarder Mohammed Hosne Quamar Alam, Asef Kamal Pasha, Mohammed Sohel, and Sakeef Ahmed Salam participated in the competition.

After the final matches in both categories, the Hon’ble Youth and Sports Adviser handed over the awards to the winners. He highly praised BGMEA for this initiative.

Tournament Results at a Glance:

• Beginner Category:

In the Beginner Group, Team C won the championship title, represented by Fahim Faisal, Director of Fahim Textile Mills Ltd., and family member Ahnaf Abtahi Amin.

The Runner-up was Team D, represented by Wasif Ahmed Salam, Managing Director of Cottonex Fashions Ltd., and family member Rahabar Rehan Ahmed.

• Advanced Category:

In the Advanced Group, Team E won the championship title, represented by family member Ahmed Al Salman of Jalal Hats & Apparels Ltd., and family member Nashaf Ahmed Nasir of Voyager Apparels Ltd.

The Runner-up was Team C, represented by M. Ishfaq Ahsan, Director of Ahsan Apparels Ltd., and Aswad Ahnaf Khan, MTO of Graphics Textile Ltd.

A total of 19 teams participated in the tournament—11 in the Beginner category and 8 in the Advanced category.

In his closing remarks, BGMEA Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury said,

"We are delighted to successfully organize this tournament for our industry members. BGMEA arranged this Padel Cup to enhance the enthusiasm of our members and to strengthen mutual bonding."
