BGMEA targets exports of $100b by 2030 RMG manufacturers and exporters of the country set a target of exporting apparel worth $100 billion by 2030. Moreover, they are also expecting to create employment for six million people in the apparel sector during the period by ensuring 100% gender equality, inclusiveness, and a decent workplace. BGMEA, expressed these intentions while unveiling its new logo and its renewed vision in line with sustainability strategy and circularity. National Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin was present there as chief guest and also launched the trade body's new logo. BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, former president Abdus Salam Murshedy and its current board members were also present at the event. Miran Ali, vice-president of the BGMEA, presented the keynote presentation regarding the story behind the new logo.

Earning $52 billion from export is encouraging: Syed Nazrul Islam, First Vice President, BGMEA As per latest official statistics estimation the country's overall export figure hit all time high $52 billion- a first time performance to this amount for Bangladesh. This happened at the tremendous labour by the domestic investors' contribution in the economy in particular huge investments in apparel sector. Despite huge dependence on imported cottons, capital machinery and other garments raw materials, this $52 billion land mark is really incredible and the garment exporting sector must get a credit for this achievement. Finally it is to say Bangladesh has repeatedly demonstrated its resilience and ability to overcome all odds and hopefully we will advance to new heights of economic growth with our continuous efforts.

BGMEA eyes $100b garment exports by 2030 BGMEA has set a target of exporting garment items worth $100 billion by 2030 as local apparel suppliers are diversifying their products and markets. "The local exporters are depending more on manmade fibre, technical clothing items and value-added garment items to achieve the $100 billion target," said Faruque Hassan, president of the BGMEA.Speaking at the logo unveiling event as the chief guest, Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad, said Bangladesh is no more a bottomless basket as it was dubbed just after the independence of the country. Sharmin said in 1976, an economist named Just Faaland termed Bangladesh as a test case, but over the years Bangladesh's economy has become a strong one.

বিজিএমইএর রোডম্যাপ ঘোষণা: ২০৩০ সালের মধ্যে ১০০ বিলিয়ন ডলার রপ্তানি লক্ষ্য আগামী ২০৩০ সালের মধ্যে ১০০ বিলিয়ন ডলারের পোশাক রপ্তানি লক্ষ্যমাত্রা ঘোষণা করেছে এ খাতের উদ্যোক্তাদের সংগঠন বিজিএমইএ। এ সময়ের মধ্যে ৬০ লাখ কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টি এবং শতভাগ করপোরেট সুশাসন প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যমাত্রা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে। টেকসই এবং পরিবেশবান্ধব উৎপাদন ও রপ্তানিকে টার্গেট করে এরকম মোট ২০টি লক্ষ্যমাত্রার একটি রোডম্যাপ ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে এই রোডম্যাপ ঘোষণা করা হয়। এ উপলক্ষে রাজধানীর হোটেল ওয়েস্টিনে আয়োজিত এক অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন জাতীয় সংসদের স্পিকার ড. শিরীন শারমিন চৌধুরী। অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখেন বিজিএমইএ-এর সাবেক সভাপতি আব্দুস সালাম মুর্শেদী। সভাপতিত্ব করেন বিজিএমইএ-এর সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান।

How export sector boosts economy Overall, the export sector's latest accomplishment has also been a confidence booster for the entire economy when concern has been growing over the reduced inflow of expatriate workers' remittance in recent months. Though the government has lately introduced some measures including raising of the cash incentive against the incoming remittance dollars from migrant workers to 2.5 per cent, the tendency to send the money using unofficial channel is continuing unabated. Innovative ways need to be hit upon to avert such a trend to keep the foreign exchange reserve at a comfortable level. Despite the odds, with the highly performing export sector beside it, it is expected that the economy will be able to meet the challenges in its stride.

কর পরিশোধ সহজ করার পদ্ধতিগত উন্নয়ন হচ্ছে জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ডের (এনবিআর) চেয়ারম্যান আবু হেনা মো. রহমাতুল মুনিম বলেছেন, সহজ কর পরিশোধ ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তুলতে ব্যাপক সংস্কারের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে। সবচেয়ে বেশি জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে পদ্ধতিগত উন্নয়নে। পাশাপাশি করদাতার সংখ্যা বাড়াতে উপজেলা পর্যন্ত কর অফিস সম্প্রসারণের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার ইলেকট্রনিক ফিসক্যাল ডিভাইসের (ইএফডি) মাধ্যমে ভ্যাট পরিশোধকারীদের পুরস্কার দেওয়ার লটারি অনুষ্ঠানে এনবিআর চেয়ারম্যান এসব কথা বলেন। রাজধানীর সেগুনবাগিচায় রাজস্ব ভবনে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে এনবিআরের শীর্ষ কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠানে ১৮তম লটারির ড্র অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

The BGMEA announced the export target while unveiling its Sustainability Strategic Vision: 2030 at the Westin Hotel in the capital Dhaka. Jatiya Sangsad speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury attended the event as chief guest.BGMEA vice-president Miran Ali presented the renewed vision of the BGMEA and the new logo of the trade body on the occasion.Former BGMEA president Abdus Salam Murshedy said that the Padma Bridge would bring a significant change in the country’s trade and economy.
