বাংলাদেশে বিনিয়োগের সুযোগ চান বেইজিংয়ের উদ্যোক্তারা চীনের অনেক কোম্পানি বাংলাদেশে ব্যবসা ও বিনিয়োগের সুযোগ চেয়েছে। ঢাকা সফররত চীনের শীর্ষস্থানীয় একটি বাণিজ্য প্রতিনিধি দল রোববার তৈরি পোশাক উৎপাদন ও রপ্তানিকারক উদ্যোক্তাদের সংগঠন বিজিএমইএ নেতাদের সঙ্গে বৈঠকে এ আগ্রহের কথা জানায়। চায়না টেক্সটাইল ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল করপোরেশন ফর ফরেন ইকোনমিক অ্যান্ড টেকনিক্যাল কো-অপারেশনের (সিটিইএক্সআইসি) ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক হুয়াং লিয়ানশেং ১৫ সদস্যের প্রতিনিধি দলে নেতৃত্ব দেন। রাজধানীর উত্তরায় বিজিএমইএ ভবনে বৈঠকে সংগঠনের পক্ষে নেতৃত্ব দেন সভাপতি এস এম মান্নান কচি। এ সময় সিনিয়র সহসভাপতি খন্দকার রফিকুল ইসলাম, সহসভাপতি আব্দুল্লাহ হিল রাকিব, রাকিবুল আলম চৌধুরী, পরিচালক আশিকুর রহমান তুহিন, শামস মাহমুদ, রাজীব চৌধুরী, আবরার হোসেন সায়েম, জাকির হোসেন, নুরুল ইসলাম, রেজাউল আলম মিরু, এম আহসানুল হক, মোহাম্মদ রাকিব আল নাসের, আবছার হোসেন প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

তিন সংস্থার সমন্বয়হীনতায় রপ্তানির তথ্যে গরমিল: সালমান এফ রহমান প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বেসরকারি শিল্প ও বিনিয়োগবিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা সালমান এফ রহমান বলেছেন, রপ্তানির তথ্যে গরমিলের পেছনে সরকারের তিন সংস্থার সমন্বয়হীনতা ছিল। রপ্তানি উন্নয়ন ব্যুরো (ইপিবি), বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক ও জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (এনবিআর) এ বিষয়ে আগে নিজেদের মধ্যে সমন্বয় করতে পারেনি। তবে দেরিতে হলেও বিষয়টির সমাধান হয়েছে। ভবিষ্যতে রপ্তানির তথ্য নিয়ে আর কোনো বিভ্রান্তি হবে না। রোববার রাজধানীর একটি হোটেলে বাংলাদেশের আন্তর্জাতিক বাণিজ্য ডিজিটালাইজ করা সংক্রান্ত এক গোলটেবিল সভায় প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে এসব কথা বলেন সালমান এফ রহমান।

অনেক চীনা কোম্পানি বাংলাদেশে ব্যবসা ও বিনিয়োগের সুযোগ খুঁজছে তৈরি পোশাকশিল্প মালিকদের সংগঠন বিজিএমইএর সভাপতি এস এম মান্নানসহ সংগঠনটির নেতাদের সঙ্গে বৈঠককালে এসব কথা বলেন সিটিইএক্সআইসির ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক (এমডি) হুয়াং লিয়ানশেং। তিনি চীনের বস্ত্র ও পোশাকশিল্পের ১৫ সদস্যের শীর্ষস্থানীয় একটি প্রতিনিধিদল নিয়ে বাংলাদেশে এসেছেন। রোববার রাজধানী ঢাকায় বিজিএমইএ কার্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত এ বৈঠকে সংগঠনটির জ্যেষ্ঠ সহসভাপতি খন্দকার রফিকুল ইসলাম, সহসভাপতি আব্দুল্লাহ হিল রাকিব, রাকিবুল আলম চৌধুরী, পরিচালক আশিকুর রহমান, শামস মাহমুদ প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বিজিএমইএর পাঠানো সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বিষয়টি জানানো হয়।

FOR GREEN RMG : European brands planning wind power project in Bangladesh In a first as well as a ground-breaking move towards sustainable energy, two major European clothing brands — H&M Group of Sweden and Bestseller of Denmark — are planning to develop a 500megawatt (MW) offshore wind project in Bangladesh. This initiative is part of the readymade garment sector’s broader shift towards green energy around the country. It also represents the first energy infrastructure project by foreign clothing brands in Bangladesh, according to sector people. Faruque Hassan, former president of BGMEA, is a key figure playing an important role in this initiative. Talking to The Business Post,he emphasised the importance of adopting climate-friendly business practices. Saying this project will be a milestone for the country, he also highlighted that the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) has been instrumental in encouraging these twointernational fashion brands to invest in the wind energy project in Bangladesh.

১০ বছরে রপ্তানি বেশি দেখানো হয়েছে ৬৫ বিলিয়ন ডলার গেল অর্থবছরের প্রথম ১০ মাসে প্রকৃত রপ্তানির তুলনায় প্রায় ১৪ বিলিয়ন ডলার বেশি দেখিয়েছে সরকারি সংস্থা রপ্তানি উন্নয়ন ব্যুরো (ইপিবি)। আর গত ১০ অর্থবছরে রপ্তানি বেশি দেখানো হয়েছে প্রায় ৬৫ বিলিয়ন বা ৬ হাজার ৫০০ কোটি ডলার। টাকার অঙ্কে যা ৭ লাখ ৬৩ হাজার কোটি টাকা বা চলতি অর্থবছরের বাজেটের প্রায় সমান। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক ও ইপিবি সূত্রে এ তথ্য জানা গেছে। রপ্তানি তথ্যে গোঁজামিল নিয়ে বিভিন্ন পক্ষের সমালোচনার মধ্যে আজ ইপিবিতে সরকারি চার সংস্থার বৈঠক ডাকা হয়েছে। জানা গেছে, আজকের বৈঠকে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক, বাংলাদেশ পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো, জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (এনবিআর) এবং ইপিবির সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত থাকবেন। বৈঠকে কেবল গত দুই অর্থবছরের তথ্য সংশোধন করা হবে, নাকি আগের ভুল সংশোধন হবে– সে বিষয়ে আলোচনা হবে।

Export data mismatch a result of double counting by EPB One of the main reasons for the $14 billion discrepancy in the export data was the Export Promotion Bureau's (EPB) double counting of exported garment items made in factories inside export processing zones (EPZs), Salman F Rahman, the prime minister's adviser on private industry and investment, said yesterday. He also attributed the data mismatch to a lack of cooperation between the EPB, the central bank, and the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ পরিসংখ্যানে সঠিক নীতি গ্রহণ ব্যাহত হয় বণিক বার্তার প্রতিবেদন অনুযায়ী, ২০২৩-২৪ অর্থবছরের প্রথম ১০ মাসের (জুলাই-এপ্রিল) ৷ লেনদেন ভারসাম্যের (বিওপি) পরিসংখ্যান প্রকাশ করেছে কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংক, যেখানে গত অর্থবছরের এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত রফতানি দেখানো হয়েছে ৩৩ দশমিক ৬৭ বিলিয়ন ডলার। অথচ ওই সময়ে ইপিবি রফতানি দেখিয়েছে ৪৭ দশমিক ৪৭ বিলিয়ন ডলার। অর্থাৎ ইপিবির তথ্য সংশোধন করে সেখান থেকে ১৩ দশমিক ৮০ বিলিয়ন ডলার বা ৩০ শতাংশের কাছাকাছি বাদ দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক। এ ধরনের বিভ্রান্তি কেবল দেশের পরিসংখ্যানের প্রতি অনাস্থা বাড়াচ্ছে তা নয়, জাতীয় অর্থনীতির লক্ষ্য নির্ধারণ, নীতি প্রণয়ন থেকে শুরু করে সার্বিক পরিস্থিতিকেও জটিল করে তুলছে। আশঙ্কা রয়েছে, সংশোধনের মাধ্যমে রফতানি আয় কমে আসায় এটি দেশের জিডিপির আকার, প্রবৃদ্ধি, মাথাপিছু আয় এসব সূচকে উল্লেখযোগ্য পরিবর্তন নিয়ে আসবে।

Export container crisis mounts Due to global complications, Bangladesh is facing a container crisis in shipping export goods. Shipping lines are unable to deliver empty 40-foot containers even with the payment of extra fares. As a result, exporters are bound to use airways, which is highly expensive. Garment is the main export product that earns Bangladesh the highest amount of foreign currency. But that declined for the first five months of this year due to the global crisis. According to BGMEA, apparel exports were $4.97 billion in January, $4.49 billion in February, $4.34 billion in March, $3.29 billion in April, and $3.35 billion in May.
