বাংলাদেশের তৈরি পোশাক : ইইউতে রপ্তানি ভিয়েতনামের তিন গুণ, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে অর্ধেক

তৈরি পোশাক রপ্তানিতে বাংলাদেশের প্রধান প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী ভিয়েতনাম। বিশ্ববাজারে এই দুই দেশ দ্বিতীয় ও তৃতীয় প্রধান রপ্তানিকারক। দ্বিতীয় প্রধান রপ্তানিকারক দেশের মর্যাদা নিয়ে দুই দেশের মধ্যে প্রতিযোগিতা চলছে। এতে সার্বিকভাবে এগিয়ে আছে বাংলাদেশ। তৈরি পোশাক উৎপাদন ও রপ্তানিকারক উদ্যোক্তাদের সংগঠন বিজিএমইএ সভাপতি মাহমুদ হাসান খান মনে করেন, একাধিক কারণে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বাজারে সব সময় ভিয়েতনাম এগিয়ে থাকে। প্রথমত, তাদের পণ্যে মূল্য সংযোজন বেশি। এ কারণে দামও বাংলাদেশের চেয়ে কয়েকগুণ বেশি। এ সুবিধায় পরিমাণে কম রপ্তানি করেও তারা বেশি আয় পায়। দ্বিতীয় বিষয়টি হচ্ছে ক্রেতাদের সঙ্গে আলোচনা থেকে শুরু করে তাদের হাতে পণ্য পৌঁছানো পর্যন্ত সময় অর্থাৎ লিড টাইম। এই লিড টাইমেও তারা এগিয়ে। চীনের প্রতিবেশী হওয়ায় সময় ও ব্যয় সাশ্রয়ী সুবিধায় কাঁচামাল সংগ্রহ করতে পারে তারা। এতে তাদের লিডটাইম কম লাগে।

As the conflict threatens the vital Strait of Hormuz, economists and business leaders warn of a multi-dimensional crisis involving fuel shortages, record-high shipping costs, and a potential spike in domestic inflation. President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Mahmud Hasan Khan said that all entrepreneurs are concerned about export and import in the Middle East conflict. “We are talking with the government and foreign buyers on export shipment, along with watching the situation,” he said.

‘ফ্যাক্টরি নেশন’ থেকে ‘ইনোভেশন নেশন’—পোশাক খাতে রূপান্তরে বিজিএমইএ-বিবিএফের সমঝোতা বাংলাদেশের তৈরি পোশাক শিল্পকে বিশ্ববাজারে আরও আধুনিক, টেকসই ও উদ্ভাবননির্ভর খাত হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে বাংলাদেশ পোশাক প্রস্তুতকারক ও রপ্তানিকারক সমিতি (বিজিএমইএ) এবং বাংলাদেশ ব্র্যান্ড ফোরাম (বিবিএফ)-এর মধ্যে একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক (এমওইউ) স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (৫ মার্চ) রাজধানীর উত্তরায় বিজিএমইএ কমপ্লেক্সে আয়োজিত এক অনুষ্ঠানে এ সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষর করা হয়। বিজিএমইএ-এর সহ-সভাপতি (অর্থ) মিজানুর রহমান এবং বিবিএফ-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক শরিফুল ইসলাম নিজ নিজ প্রতিষ্ঠানের পক্ষে সমঝোতা স্মারকে স্বাক্ষর করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে বিজিএমইএ-এর পরিচালক শাহ রাঈদ চৌধুরী, ব্র্যান্ডিং সংক্রান্ত স্ট্যান্ডিং কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান খান মনিরুল আলম (শুভ), প্রচার ও প্রকাশনা সংক্রান্ত স্ট্যান্ডিং কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান মাসুদ কবির এবং ট্রেড ফেয়ার অ্যান্ড ইভেন্ট সংক্রান্ত স্ট্যান্ডিং কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান এম সাজেদুল করিম উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

BGMEA and Bangladesh Brand Forum sign MoU to strengthen global branding of RMG sector Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at repositioning Bangladesh’s ready made garment industry as a modern, sustainable and innovation driven sector in the global market.The MoU was signed by Mijanur Rahman on behalf of BGMEA and Shariful Islam on behalf of BBF. Among others present at the signing ceremony were Shah Raed Chowdhury, Director of BGMEA; Khan Monirul Alam, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Branding; Masud Kabir, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Promotion and Publication; M Sajedul Karim, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Trade Fair and Events; and Sajid Mahbub.

Govt goes for gas rationing as Gulf turmoil pinches Export goods manufacturers worry and textiles owners report insufficient gas supply as the government goes for fuel rationing for vehicles across Bangladesh to make do with reserves amid the veritable gulf Armageddon. Former director of BGMEA MohiuddinRubel says west-bound readymade garment shipments have already been facing longer transit times. "Since late 2023 and early 2024, almost all sea-bound RMG exports to western markets have been using the Cape of Good Hope route around Africa," he mentions. "This has already added time and costs. The additional 10-15 days are delays that have existed since 2023-2024. Any new disruption will only worsen the situation."
