ঈদের আগে রপ্তানি প্রণোদনার ৩১০০ কোটি টাকা ছাড়, বড় অংশ পেল তৈরি পোশাক খাত ঈদের আগে রপ্তানিকারকদের জন্য এলো স্বস্তির খবর। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকে জমা হওয়া রপ্তানি খাতের বকেয়া নগদ প্রণোদনা (ক্যাশ ইনসেনটিভ) বাবদ ৩ হাজার ১০০ কোটি টাকা পরিশোধ করা হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে বড় অংশ পেয়েছে দেশের প্রধান রপ্তানি খাত তৈরি পোশাক শিল্প। শনিবার (১৬ মে) বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের পক্ষ থেকে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক বলছে, রপ্তানিকারকদের প্রণোদনার অর্থ দ্রুত ছাড়ের ফলে তাদের তারল্য পরিস্থিতির উন্নতি হবে। পাশাপাশি আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে প্রতিযোগিতা সক্ষমতা বাড়ানো এবং রপ্তানি খাতের গতি ধরে রাখতে এ সহায়তা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।

Apparel sector must embrace innovation for future competitiveness: Inamul Haq Khan At the grand launching ceremony of the Textile Innovation Exchange held at Le Méridien Dhaka, Inamul Haq Khan, Senior Vice President, BGMEA and Managing Director, Ananta Companies, highlighted the growing importance of innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency in maintaining Bangladesh’s global competitiveness in the apparel sector. Speaking at the event, he said Bangladesh’s apparel industry has transformed into a $40 billion sector over the past four decades and now contributes nearly 84 percent of the country’s total export earnings.“In the last four decades, Bangladesh’s apparel industry has become a $40 billion industry and contributes around 84% of the country’s total export earnings. Today, the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ label carries global recognition,” he said.

BB settles 3,100C in export incentives in FY26 so far Bangladesh Bank Spokesperson and Executive Director Arif Hossain Khan said that all applications related to cash incentives submitted for the export sector till April 30 of the current FY26 have been completely settled. According to the central bank, a total of about Tk3,100 crore has been paid so far, which is being considered an important implementation of the country's export incentive system.He gave this information on Saturday (May 16).

Bangladesh must move beyond cheap labor competitiveness Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry leaders gathered at the Ballroom of Le Méridien Dhaka on 16th May 2026, for the grand launching ceremony of the Textile Innovation Exchange (TIE), where industry stakeholders delivered a strong call for structured innovation, deeper industrial collaboration, and accelerated technology-driven transformation to strengthen the country’s future global competitiveness.Speaking at the launching ceremony, Dr. Md. Hasib Uddin, Director, BGMEA, Managing Director, APS Knit Composite Ltd., and Director of the Steering Board of Textile Innovation Exchange, said Bangladesh’s apparel and textile sector must now move beyond its traditional dependence on low-cost manufacturing and focus on measurable industrial capability. He noted that rising energy costs, stricter compliance requirements, traceability demands, and sustainability expectations are reshaping global sourcing decisions.

Product diversification in textile sector stressed Commerce, industries, and textiles and jute minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir on Saturday said Bangladesh’s textile and ready-made garment sector should place the highest priority on sustainable production systems, innovation, research, and product diversification to maintain long-term global competitiveness. ‘Sustainability is no longer merely a slogan; it is an essential condition for the survival and future growth of the industry,’ he said while addressing the ‘Grand Launching Event of Textile Innovation Exchange’ as the chief guest held at a hotel in the capital. Md Shamsuzzaman delivered the welcome speech. Md Hasib Uddin and Tareq Amin also spoke at the programme, while Ehsanul Karim Kaisar delivered the concluding remarks.

ব্যবসায় বড় বাধা আমলাতন্ত্র বাংলাদেশে নতুন ব্যবসা শুরু করার ক্ষেত্রে খাতভেদে ২৩টি বা তার বেশি দপ্তর থেকে ১৫০টির মতো অনাপত্তি, লাইসেন্স বা ছাড়পত্র নিতে হয়। ট্রেড লাইসেন্স নিতে হয় সিটি করপোরেশন, পৌরসভা ও ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ থেকে। দিতে হয় ভূমি কর ও হোল্ডিং ট্যাক্স। সেই ট্যাক্স আবার নির্ধারণ করে জেলা প্রশাসকের নেতৃত্বে কমিটি। এরপর আছে কোম্পানি নিবন্ধন, আয়কর ও ভ্যাট নিবন্ধন জটিলতা। এসবের পাশাপাশি পরিবেশ ছাড়পত্র, পরিবেশ সনদ, ফায়ার লাইসেন্স, ফায়ার লে আউট প্ল্যান, নির্মাণ অনুমোদন ও শিল্প আইআরসি-সংক্রান্ত নানা ইস্যু। এসব ঝামেলা মোকাবিলা করে বাংলাদেশে ব্যবসা-বিনিয়োগে এখন আগ্রহ হারিয়ে ফেলছেন উদ্যোক্তারা। অনেকে কারখানা বন্ধ করে ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য গুটিয়ে ফেলছেন। অনেকে কর্মসংস্থানের চিন্তা করে সামাজিক দায়বদ্ধ থেকে লোকসান দিয়েও পুরোনো ব্যবসা কোনো রকমে ধরে রেখেছেন।

Vision Group, Shahi Exports ink $30 million annual RMG partnership A $30 million annual apparel partnership has been signed between Bangladesh's leading garment manufacturer and exporter Vision Group and India-based Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., marking a significant milestone in regional textile and apparel cooperation. The agreement, valued at $30 million a year, reflects the growing synergy between the apparel industries of Bangladesh and India.The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed (16 May) at Vision Group's office located in Savar. The agreement was signed by AHA Gaffar, director of Vision Group, and Poorana Seenivasan, chief executive officer and director of Shahi Exports Pvt Ltd, representing their respective organisations.

ব্যাংক খাতের সংকট না কাটলে অর্থনীতির ধস ঠেকানো যাবে না: ড. হোসেন জিল্লুর রহমান ব্যাংক খাতের যে সংকট চলছে তার সমাধান না হলে অর্থনীতির ধস ঠেকানো যাবে না বলে মনে করেন সাবেক তত্ত্বাবধায়ক সরকারের উপদেষ্টা অর্থনীতিবিদ ড. হোসেন জিল্লুর রহমান। তিনি বলেন, এ জন্য রাজনৈতিক সিদ্ধান্ত প্রয়োজন। গতকাল শনিবার রাজধানীর সিরডাপ মিলনায়তনে ‘দেশের ব্যাংকিং খাতের বিপর্যয়; প্রেক্ষিত ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং খাত: জাতীয় অর্থনীতিতে এর প্রভাব ও উত্তরণের পথ’ শীর্ষক সেমিনারে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে তিনি এ মন্তব্য করেন।
