Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Expo beings in Chittagong

The Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Exposition kicked off in Chittagong on 6 August with the aim of exploring every avenue towards achieving the vision of $50 billion in 2021.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP inaugurated the expo at the Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View.

Sajjad Karim, Member of European Parliament (MEP); AJM Nasir Uddin, Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation; Pierre Mayaudon, EU Ambassador, Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, the US Ambassador to Bangladesh were present at the program.
BGMEA President Md. Atiqul Islam Md. Atiqul Islam, 1st Vice President Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury, 2nd Vice President SM Mannan (Kochi), Vice President Md. Shahidullah Azim, and Vice President (Finance) Reaz Bin Mahmood were also present on the occasion.

Session on branding Bangladesh held in Ctg expo

The first session of the Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Exposition, Chittagong titled “Branding Bangladesh” was held at the Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View on 6August 2015.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP attended the seminar as chief guest with BGMEA President Md. Atiqul Islam in the chair.
Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, Professor at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University, presented the keynote speech at the seminar while RubanaHuq, Managing Director of the Mohammadi Group, moderated the session.
Former Commerce Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury; US Ambassador Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, Dr. Jennifer Bair, Associate Professor, University of Colorado; John T. Smith, recently retired long term adviser- international coordinator, UNIDO BEST, and Roger Hubert, Chief Representative, H & M Bangladesh; and attended the session.

Session on skills development held in Ctg expo

The second session of the Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Exposition, Chittagong titled “Training & Developing Skills for Strong, Sustainable & Balanced Growth” was held at the Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View on 6August 2015 at 04:00 PM.

Mikail Shipar, Secretary, Ministry of Labor and Employment, attended the seminar as chief guest with Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury, First Vice President, BGMEA in the chair.
Paul Weijers, Team Leader, GRM International, presented the keynote speech at the seminar while Reaz Bin Mahmood, Vice President (Finance) of BGMEA moderated the session.

Seminar on financing apparel growth held at Ctg Expo

The third session of the Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Exposition, Chittagong titled “Financing Apparel Growth” was held at the Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View on 6August 2015.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, MP attended the seminar as chief guest.
BGMEA 1st Vice President Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury chaired the session while Mamun Rashid, economic analyst, presented the keynote speech and moderated the seminar.

Seminar on capacity building of port, infrastructure held at Ctg Expo

The fourth session of the Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Exposition, Chittagong titled “Capacity Building of Port, Customs, Power & Infrastructure to reach $ 50 Billion in 2021” was held at the Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View on 6August 2015.

AHM Mustafa Kamal, MP, Minister, Ministry of Planning; and Shahjahan Khan, MP, Minister, Ministry of Shipping, attended the seminar as guests of honor.
Sharif As-Saber, Professor, RMIT University, Australia; and Dr. Nazneen Ahmed, Senior Research Fellow, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS)presented the keynote speech at the seminar.
The session was moderated by Md. Atiqul Islam, President, BGMEA.
