The Steering Committee of Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exhibition (BATEXPO) 2026 met with Mahdi Amin, Adviser to the Honorable Prime Minister, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka today (24 August 2026).
The Steering Committee members included Mijanur Rahman, Vice President (Finance), BGMEA; Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director, BGMEA (Chief of Coordination); Nafis-Ud-Doula, Director, BGMEA (Member); Ms. Sumaiya Islam, Director, BGMEA (Member); Khan Monirul Alam (Shuvo), Chairman, Standing Committee on Branding (Member); Sajedul Karim, Chairman, Standing Committee on Trade Fair & Events (Member); and Masud Kabir, Chairman, Standing Committee on Press, Publication and Publicity (Member).
During the meeting, the Steering Committee apprised the PM’s Adviser of the vision and significance of BATEXPO 2026 -- the revival of Bangladesh’s flagship apparel and textile exposition, designed to showcase the country’s evolving industry to the world.
The Steering sought the government’s cooperation in successfully organizing BATEXPO 2026, particularly in facilitating the participation of high-profile international guests, buyers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
The two-day mega-event, organized by BGMEA, will bring together global buyers, industry leaders, policymakers, media, and influencers in Dhaka, creating a platform to experience Bangladesh’s capabilities, explore innovation, foster collaboration, and build new business connections.
