BGMEA-SEIP Job Fair held

A  job fair was held at International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on 18 March to provide job opportunities for those who have completed training under BGMEA-SEIP project.
Honorable Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP, attended the inaugural ceremony of the job fair as chief guest while Honorable State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque, MP and Senior Finance Secretary Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, ndc were present as special guests.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, First Vice President of FBCCI Shafiul Islam, former BGMEA President Md. Atiqul Islam, present BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, BGMEA Directors, among others, were present at the program.
Around 40 RMG factories took part in the job fair to recruit employees through spot interviews from more than one thousand worker-level and mid-level trainees.
Under the auspices of the Finance Ministry and with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), BGMEA is implementing Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) project to develop skills of around 44 thousands workers and mid-level employees in ready-made garment industry in three years by providing them training.
The BGMEA-SEIP project has already provided training to around 20 thousands trainees through 50 public and private training centers in 35 districts in the country. Among them around 10 thousands trainees were provided with jobs in different garment factories.
