BGMEA leaders paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Customs Commissioner, Muhammed Mahbubur Rahman.

Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Sakeef Ahmed Salam, and Enamul Aziz Chowdhury; Chairman of the Standing Committee on Customs Affairs Anjan Shekhar Das; Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee on Customs Affairs Mohammed Shahjahan; Chairman of the Standing Committee on Membership Affairs Wadud Mohammed Chowdhury; Chairman of the Standing Committee on Religious Affairs Kazi Md. Shafiqul Islam (Titu); Chairman of the Standing Committee on Arbitration Affairs Bijoy Shekhar Das; along with senior customs officials.
In his remarks, BGMEA Acting First Vice President Mohammad Rafique Chowdhury congratulated the newly appointed Customs Commissioner and extended his best wishes. He stated that greater caution and transparency are now being ensured in UD approvals compared to before.
He emphasized the importance of expediting the customs clearance process through fast-track procedures for imported raw materials, considering reasonable weight discrepancies during inspection of imported goods in a practical manner for clearance, facilitating easier release of goods imported under FOC, ensuring faster clearance through direct Second Appraisement, and accelerating cargo inspection services at port jetties.
